From Compliance to Connection: Support Neurodivergent Nervous Systems

Developed and facilitated a neurodiversity-affirming training program for Saanich Recreation staff focused on supporting neurodivergent children and youth in recreational settings. The project covered understanding neurodivergent profiles, including AuDHD, PDA, and ODD; creating sensory-inclusive environments for both sensory seekers and sensory avoiders; and implementing low-demand communication strategies to foster safety, connection, and participation.
