About the event
This comprehensive workshop for caregivers and support workers is brought to you by Sarah Wilson and The Neurodiveristy Family Centre. Whether your child or the child you support has already come out or if you suspect they may at a later time, or if you are just looking to learn more about how to support your child's friends and be a safe adult for such youth, this workshop is for you. We'll get right down to the basics of terminology, practical skills, resources, and a guide for how to support moving forward. You'll come away feeling ready to take on whatever comes next for you and your child.
6:00pm-7:30pm Workshop 7:30pm- 8:00pm Q & A and Discussion
$50 (Including GST) per family  with a maximum of 30 participants

The event is hosted by Sarah Wilson, an LGBTQ2s+ teacher working in SD61. She has been her school's Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) Lead for 4+ years, and facilitates the school's Gender and Sexuality Alliance club for students. She specializes in research looking at complex trauma for transgender and gender-nonconforming youth in schools, and protective measures to ensure the safety of at-risk LGBTQ2S+ youth.
